Welcome to the website of Jacobs Open 2008! Our tournament will be held in Bremen, Germany, from February 01 to 03, 2008. The Jacobs University Bremen Debating Society is proud to host the tournament with the support of Jacobs University Bremen.
This is the fourth edition of the highly successful Bremen tournament series. With a most distinguished Chief Adjudication Panel, 52 teams on the tab in five preliminary rounds breaking to semi-finals, and a great social program, we hope to provide you not only with good debates, but also with memorable fun you can one day tell your grandchildren about.

Isabelle Loewe
Isabelle Loewe is the Chief Adjudicator of Jacobs Open 2008 She won the ESL competition at Berlin Euros 2006, is a former president of the VDCH and won our Best Speaker award in 2005. We expect her coming and yet another fierce competition for the title 'last (wo)man at the bar' (which she, together with Convenor Henrik Maedler, has attained before, at the 2006 DDG Masters' Cup).
